Terms of Service

1. The service

Mochi is an application for keeping a private photo album of your pet, recording care routines, and optionally sharing selected photos with other users.

Photos, albums and routines you create are stored on your own device by default. They are not uploaded to us unless you subscribe to a plan that includes cloud backup and switch it on, or unless you deliberately publish an individual photo to the community.

2. Your account

Some features require an account, created through Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping access to that account secure, and for everything done through it.

You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. If you are under 14, you may only use the app with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

You may delete your account at any time, from within the app or at /delete-account on this site.

3. Your content

You keep all rights in the photos and text you create. We claim no ownership of them.

When you publish a photo to the community, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, reproduce and display that photo for the sole purpose of operating the community feature. That licence ends when you unpublish the photo or delete your account.

You are responsible for what you publish. Do not publish content you have no right to share, or content that is unlawful, abusive, or depicts animal cruelty. We may remove published content that breaches these terms.

4. Backups are your responsibility

On the free plan, your data exists only on your device. We do not hold a copy and cannot recover it. If the device is lost, damaged, reset, or the app is uninstalled, that data is gone permanently.

Paid plans include cloud backup. Even then, you remain responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. We do not guarantee that backup is complete, uninterrupted, or recoverable in every circumstance.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Paid plans are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Those stores take payment and hold your payment details; we never see them.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancellation and refunds are handled by the store you bought through, under that store’s policies, not by us.

We may change prices. Any change applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you before it takes effect.

6. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service. Where a change materially disadvantages you, we will give reasonable notice unless the change is required urgently for legal or security reasons.

Access to features requiring our servers depends on those servers being available. We do not promise uninterrupted availability.

7. Disclaimer

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

The app is not veterinary advice. Any care suggestion, reminder or informational content in the app is general in nature. Decisions about your animal’s health should be made with a qualified veterinarian.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or goodwill, arising from your use of the service.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or KRW 100,000.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law of the Republic of Korea, including liability arising from our intent or gross negligence.

9. Ending your use

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, or where we are required to by law. Where practical we will tell you why.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be heard by the Seoul Central District Court, unless mandatory consumer protection rules give you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
